Newborn Session

What to Expect
Your newborn is the director of the show. A newborn session typically runs between two and three hours depending on the mood of your baby. This gives us lots of time to feed and calm baby for best photo results.
I will start by photographing baby on their own while you pick out some props you would like me to photograph your baby with.
Dress in layers because it will be warm. I always have heaters running and warm blankets to keep your baby warm and comfortable.

 What to Remember
If you are interested in booking a newborn session, a good time to start thinking about booking the session is when you are 20-24 weeks pregnant. Babies have a mind of their own when they decide to arrive into this world and this gives me the sufficient time to book the session. I like to keep a few days open for you to make sure we get the best days to photograph your baby. Make sure you try to keep your baby awake for at least an hour before the session. A good way to do this is by giving them a bath. Please bring plenty of food for baby and bring a pacifier even if baby doesn’t normally take one. The best age to photograph your baby is when s/he is between 4 and 10 days old. This is when they are still in that “squishy” stage and makes for phenomenal posing for me and amazing photos for you.

What Happens after the session
After the session, I will spend my time editing the photos and post them on an online website where you can pick your favourite photo(s) for the package you have chosen. If your package includes a Zin frame, you may visit www.zinframes.com and choose your favourite style and color of frame for order.
If you do not have access to internet, a disc will be provided or viewing time will be booked in order for you to choose your photo(s).

Portait Session
a.k.a. High Fashion/Dress Up Session
Ever wanted to try out being a model, or just want some fun crazy portraits? Here’s your chance!
This session can be a rock-star CD cover style photo shoot, a photo shoot with your favourite costume / a haute couture fashion session. Whatever goes! Got another idea? We’ll make it happen! This session includes various outfit changes and trudging around to various locations.

Trash the Dress Session
This is not so much of a “trashing of your dress” session (unless permission is given!) but rather a “day after session” or a “rock the dress session.” It is a session meant to give the bride just one more chance to wear her dress, and have fun in it without all the stress of the wedding day upon her. This can be a bridal session, or a couple session. The photo shoot consists of going around to places where you may have wanted to go for your wedding day, but may have not been able to for that day.
It is the juxtaposition of beauty and “ugly”. I personally like to take my brides to places with broken down trucks, or old barns ect. Trash the Dress could also be a session on the beach, and if willing, we can get some shots of you (and your hubby) in the water. It is just a session to have another fun day in your dress with your new hubby, and feel like a princess, one more time. Who says you only wear it once?  (:

Graduation Session
With grad portraiture, I like to use a bit of fashion-like posing. Yes guys, fashion! Not the fashion “H to T” (head to toe) posing as Tyra Banks likes to say. I just think about being a photographer at a model fashion shoot and think of poses that make you look like you were made to be on the cover of a magazine! If I position you in a way that makes you think “wow, this feels weird, it probably looks weird” don’t think that! If it feels uncomfortable, it looks great!
I also like to take you to different places around town for a variety. Parks, old barns, downtown. Wherever!

Wedding Photography Session
I like to describe my wedding photography as more artistic and romantic. I like to think of a portrait to not just be a “look at the camera and smile” type, but more of an art piece to hang on your wall. I love to get model-like poses with my brides and I like to have my couples interact with each other and catch the emotions they exude throughout the day. Of course I will throw in a few of the poses where you look at the camera because mom and grandma need those! But most of your session will be about interacting with each other and enjoying those “We did it! We’re married!” and “I love you so much!” moments.

Couples in Love (aka Engagement) Session
For your engagement session, let's get creative! Think of some things you would like to incorporate into your session to make it more personalized. The more personalized the session the more fabulous your photos will be! Do you want a vintage-style session? Maybe bring some old suitcases or borrow grandpa’s old truck. Do you want to have fun? Maybe have a paint fight or water fight? Do you want romantic? Find a boat for a session on the lake. Do you want to be unique? Maybe bring a couch to the middle of a field. The more effort you put into your session the more fun and outstanding the session will be! Let me know your ideas and we can brain storm together to make the magic happen

Family Session
With family portraits, I like more of a fun and casual session. At first I will get the group family shots, and then if you have younger kids, I will run after them and grab shots of them playing and interacting. If you have older kids, I will use more of the fashion poses like in the grad portraiture for individual shots. I will also get in some couples shots of mom and dad. The whole family will be covered!
